My first big public speaking event a couple of years ago created a profound shift in my life. I got great feedback from people who attended, and I absolutely loved the day. As a result, I could see new possibilities and opportunities that just weren't available to me before, no matter how much I tried to 'figure them out'. The funny thing is, this amazing shift didn't come from some astonishing new NLP Technique. It came as a result of my mentor Shaa Wasmund's master recipe for success. That recipe is:

BELIEF + ACTION = SUCCESS

Human beings are amazing learners. While we can learn many things by exploring our internal maps of the world, the most powerful way to learn is the same way you learned to walk; by taking action.

But action by itself is not enough. The reason you were able to learn to walk and talk is because you believed you could do it. At this age, it wouldn't even occur to you that you wouldn't be able to do it. You saw other people do it, and assumed you could too.

You were right.

You believed you could do it, then you took action, confident in the result you would get. You fell over many times, made many 'mistakes', but that was OK. You continued, confident in the knowledge that you could achieve whatever you put your mind to.

Your amazing mind and body are designed to learn from action. It's also great to learn conceptually, but action is the magic word. And the action that makes a difference is action with belief.

When someone asked me what role knowledge played in this, I explained that if I had to have brain surgery, I would definitely want to be operated by someone who had been correctly trained. But who's most likely to get well-trained as a brain surgeon - a person who doesn't believe in themselves and doesn't take action, or a person who does and does?

Belief plus action equals success.

The person who believes in themselves is most likely to take massive action. The person who takes massive action is much more likely to develop valuable skills, attract other extraordinary people, get the results they want and make a big difference in the world.

This is one of the 'secrets' that the most successful people know.
